(Australia)
A story set in Sydney’s working‑class districts about a young woman who falls out with her employer and quits her job. In the same upheaval, her adoptive parents throw her out onto the street, but thanks to kind‑hearted friends and sheer good luck, she manages to stay on her feet and avoid sliding into ruin. The final reel of this carefully told drama has been lost. Most of the exterior scenes of Sunshine Sally were filmed in Sydney, in the suburb of Woolloomooloo. Since the making of the film, the area has undergone significant appreciation and is today a highly respected and affluent residential district.
