The Circus

The delightful circus-themed movie by Charles Chaplin tends to remain in the shadow of The Gold Rush (1925) and City Lights (1924). For no reason whatsoever! Borrowing from Max Linder's King of the Circus (1924), the movie has a strong autobiographical touch, which Chaplin colours with suitable, gentle humour.
