The Italian

The Italian by Reginald Barker describes immigrant life in the early decade, in which young women often drifted to a life of crime and prostitution. Main character is Italian Beppo, who tries to start a life with his family in a new country. This politically charged movie is considered to be one influence for Godfather -movies.
