The Informer

Most movie buffs know John Ford's Oscar winner from 1935, in which Victor McLaglen's Gypo Nolan turns his friend in hoping for a reward. Few are familiar with Arthur Robinson's silent film based on the same story. Premiering just before sound films became the norm, The Informer was trapped in the silent film era. A solid action-thriller stars some familiar faces from earlier festival, such as Lars Hanson, Lya De Putti and Warwick Ward.
